Here we will use a laptop with the Windows OS. The instructions in this article were tested on an Intel® Xeon® processor-based desktop, server, and laptop. Developing and running DPDK applications will be done on an Oracle VM VirtualBox*. Intel® VTune™ Amplifier, a performance profiler, will run natively on the Windows* OS so that it can access all the hardware performance registers.
